About the event

WCLA will recognize Lake Ivanhoe as being the first Black resort community in Wisconsin. We are also honored to have a speaker from the National Geographic Society.  James Edward Mills is a freelance journalist and a  National Geographic Explorer, outdoor recreation enthusiast and an  environmental conservationist.

The title of his talk is “The Adventure Gap ~ Changing the Face of the Outdoors: A presentation on the role of people of color in the protection and preservation of our public land and national heritage.”

We will also discuss budget and plans for 2024 WCLA meetings. Please take this survey to tell us your preferences for meeting topics.

Directions From Lake Geneva: Take Hwy 50 East for about 5 miles.  After you pass Lake Geneva Country Meats go another mile until you see the sign for Lake Ivanhoe/Mariondle Rd.

Turn right on Mariondale Rd and stay to the right to follow Dunbar Rd (Blvd).  Follow Dunbar to the end where the clubhouse is.

Please RSVP for this event so we know how many to expect... thank you!
